Tomoka kicked off a summer full of mission trips by sending a team to Philadelphia. The team helped out at Philly Dream Center, where they were able to pack over 250 meals for children, clean the entire center to prepare for a worship service, and do some painting while sharing testimonies at the Teen Challenge building. That was only the beginning.
“We were able to bless Philly Dream Center with a refrigerator and a stove,” said Sally Mose, who was one of the mission team leaders.
The refrigerator will hold food for Philly Dream Center’s new building, and the stove will be used in a food truck that feeds homeless and less fortunate members of the community.
On top of that, the team went into downtown Philadelphia and distributed over 10,000 lbs. of food. They also prayed with homeless citizens and provided them with iced tea and hot pretzels. They picked up needles and trash in a local park, which in turn, made it a safer place for children and families to enjoy.
“The team did an excellent job serving the Lord,” said Mose. “We are thankful for His blessings.”
Tomoka would like to thank everyone who made a difference on this trip. Your efforts brightened the lives of so many people, and we are beyond grateful for everything you accomplished.
