Life of Hope Ministries is an organization Tomoka has partnered with for over 10 years. Their focus is on rescuing homeless children in Latin America, and giving them a chance to learn about and experience God’s love.

According to their website, Life of Hope works with families at risk of producing homeless children, and provides them with “educational, emotional, physical and spiritual welfare.”

Nancy Hutson, who works with Life of Hope, shared a great story about a young man named Luis, that demonstrates the type of work they do:

“Luis has several brothers, no dad and a mom who is gone scavenging in the landfill from daylight to dark. Luis’ face was covered with anger, bitterness and he had a tendency of bullying anyone who came in his path. He was 11 years old when he was finally sponsored by a gentleman. Luis couldn’t believe that someone cared. Luis couldn’t believe someone from the U.S. even knew he existed. His life was immediately filled with hope when he heard the news and received a video from his sponsor. Love always covers the gap!”

Life of Hope is also the ministry Tomoka works with whenever we send a short-term mission team to Guatemala. The work that takes place on those mission trips touches the lives of so many children and families, and it’s a privilege to share God’s love with people who desperately need Him. We encourage everyone to join us in supporting Life of Hope. Opportunities to help include sponsoring children or donating directly to their ministry. You may do both of these at the buttons below.
